"Ann was confronted with a challenge when we invited her to help us with a design around our new home and our 1088sq metre sloping sand pit on the Kapiti Coast.

 

We wanted everything - from the beachy, tropical, relaxing environment around the deck to the ‘good life’- raised vege gardens an orchard, garden shed and a chook house. We had no idea where to start. Ann listened carefully, assessed our needs perfectly and then came back to us with a very exciting concept plan including all the things we wanted – even an enclosed orchard for free-range chooks.

 

While the work was in progress, Ann was discussing with us, creating our vision changing a few ideas for the better and in constant discussion with the site foreman to achieve the final result.

 

When it was time to discuss planting we wanted to do it ourselves in the good life part of the section and with Ann’s help in plant choice and design we have been able to enjoy creating our edible garden.

"One day I spotted a van from Annie's Garden driving up our road. It had apparently just come from a friend's place. I needed help with my garden, so I asked my friend what Annie's service was like. He was very enthusiastic about her work and gave me the contact details. I made contact and Ann came to look over the garden, explained clearly what they could do and what the costs would be. I asked Ann to begin the work.
She and one of her gardeners came and started on clearing weeds from a line of Hebes. She told me they needed fertiliser, compost, mulch and to be sprayed, pointing out exactly why they spray was needed. She arranged for the compost and mulch to be delivered and recommended a fertiliser and the right spray to use. Her work meant that immediately I could see some improvement in the health of the plants. Ann and one of her team, looked at what else needed to be done and so one of the team started to come on a fortnightly basis. I identified the priority areas for each visit. The weeds were cleared, the plants tidied up and my own compost was spread over the section of the garden that had been cleared. Now it is ready for the spring growth, and I couldn't be happier about the state of the garden. Annie's Gardens are the right team for efficient effective work at a reasonable price. I highly recommend them."

"In late 2009 my husband and I commissioned Ann Davis of Annie’s Gardens to design and landscape the grounds of our recently purchased property. Being novice gardeners we relied heavily on Ann’s expertise. Ann consulted us in depth of our requirements and was careful to produce plans that reflected not only what we required, but also what would suit our style of home and climatic situation.

 

These plans were quite substantial including a large paved patio area; a pottage raised vegetable garden, a herb garden and other feature gardens. Ann continually consulted with us and provided detailed written plans with extensive descriptions of all materials and plants that would be used.

 

Ann met all the deadlines we required and now eight months on we can say that we have not lost one single plant. A lot of the planting was done before we moved into our home so watering after planting was minimal; we feel this reflects on the high standard of plants that Ann chooses.

 

In closing Ann was a pleasure to deal with, we found that she listened to our needs, put those needs on paper with detailed descriptions, used high quality plants, met our deadlines and we highly recommend her.
